The Sunshine Coast A Hot Spot for Australian Nurses

As the days get shorter and colder, it’s only natural for us to dream to be somewhere else. Some will camp in front of the heater and wait out the cold, others will escape for a European summer. Then we have a large number of ‘savvy’ healthcare professionals that are flocking to the serenity of the Sunshine Coast…and it’s not only the weather that’s driving them there!

Due to the recent investment on the Sunshine Coast, Healthcare Australia currently has a number of great opportunities for Nurses and Midwives. We’re looking for healthcare professionals of all skill levels and specialties to fill on-going shifts at a number of top Private and Public facilities. It’s a perfect time to join ‘Team Purple’ up on the Sunshine Coast and choose a work-life balance! Register your Interest here

The Sunshine Coast offers a relaxed lifestyle, with palm trees, beaches and bushland, as well as a sustainable location to grow your Nursing or Midwife career.

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

If you’re inspired to dig a little deeper, we invite you to read ‘Five (5) reasons why the Sunshine Coast is the current ‘Nurse Hot Spot’ and why you should make the move there too.’

Number One: Lifestyle

A tranquil life where you can discover a vast array of beaches, the wonders of the natural hinterland and the succulent wining and dining culture, the Sunshine Coast has everything a social Nurse could want.

Locals never run out of things to do. At night visit one of the beautiful restaurants along Mooloolaba, and on the weekends, explore the rolling tabletop hinterlands, with pit stops at Maleny and other local towns. There are so many places only a short car trip away.

If you’re an outdoors lover, there are plenty of sports and recreational activities you can sink your teeth into. Surfing or snorkelling, hiking or riding there are so many fun times to be had.

Number Two: Sunshine Coast Public and Private Hospitals

Nursing hospitals on the coastThe Sunshine Coast is home to many Public and Private health facilities, including; Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, Noosa Private Hospital, Kawana Private Hospital and the newest facility Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, just to name a few.

With the launch of Australia’s newest Public Teaching Hospital in March 2017, health and medical professionals are seeing a significant increase in opportunities across all specialities.

Julie, a Theatre Nurse on the Sunshine Coast, writes I get to experience a range of facilities and work with lots of different people. I love the flexibility and diversity.

Number Three: From the Coast to the Farm and everything in between

The Sunshine Coast has a little bit of everything for everyone. It’s an incredibly unique landscape, covering many different biospheres. From beaches to bush, rainforests to farms, urban centres to remote communities, this place has every type of adventure at arm’s length.

Some ‘not to miss’ attractions include: Australia Zoo (Home of the Crocodile Hunter), Mount Beerwah (located in the Glass House Mountains National Park) and many of Australia’s most iconic beaches, such as Noosa and Coolum.

Number Four: Weather

Is it getting colder outside? You’d barely notice up on the Sunshine Coast. With warm and vibrant summers and clear winter weather, you’re pretty much guaranteed 365 days of great weather.

Number Five: Health & Wellbeing

They say that fresh air and sunshine clears the head; so, feeling the warm glow of the rising sun on your face and taking a big, deep breath of fresh coastal or mountain air could be just what the Doctor ordered.

The Sunshine Coast receives on average seven hours of sun per day ‚ Plenty of time to get your 15-30 minutes of daily vitamin D.

Inkie, a Registered Nurse on the Sunshine Coast, writes I love the flexibility, choosing what days I want to work and what shifts! The phone App is awesome and easy to use! The pay rates are excellent and it’s ‘crazy cool’ that you can allocate when you get paid.
